I added my face to the wall of my game! And it flickers!
This is how!
I took a photo of me!
Not the best I know...
Took it into Gimp and made it all creepy...

Ok heres where it gets complicated. A few days ago I watched a youtube tutorial on how to make lights flicker. Problem was that the guy making it was using an older version that had a flicker asset pre-made. So when he updated he posted on the comments how to build your own. It involves math and stuff so I followed the steps real closely until it worked out. Problem was that the Maclab computer wouldnt let me add the functiont to the spotlight actor for some reason. So I gave up after hours of trying. Today I got the idea to add my picture onto the function and make it flicker, then add it to a wall to make it look like a failing computer monitor. And it worked! So now my head flickers on a wall!!!Tuesday, September 4, 2012
DOOR!!!!
I animated a door in my Level. It opens to nothing.
I added a door that is compatible for manipulation with Matinee. I then added a trigger and expanded its range to about 250. I set up the Kismet and animated the door in Matinee. And TA-DA! Door.

Finished until tomorrow, When it will be More finished
Oh boy what a day! Here is what I've got done.
How I got there...
First I added the central hole for the fire pit then adorned it with a ring.
I then caved the floor in a bit and added steps. Followed by fire animations and lighting.
Then I took some of the same pieces from the fire pit and made a nice wall statue on both walls.
Here's a nice dynamic view of the interior.
I couldn't find the torches from the tutorial so I put up street lamps and set them on fire!
I finalized it all by adding a sky dome, Dominate directional lighting and some foliage. And crackling noise from the fires! Final image is on top!
More of that room
Well im still working on it. The pic above is where Im at. To get there...
I added a ceiling and subtracted some geometry to get more room in there.
I then added a fire in all four corneres, after I textured some more and now Im working on a fire pit!
Jumped the Gun, Forgot to take may pics...
So... I watched SOOO may tutorials that I kinda just started to do stuff w/o taking many photos...
I will rectify this problem in the future. But for now...
I started on basic level design, because I finished navigation.

I started on basic level design, because I finished navigation.
I made four walls and placed them uniform to the grid so I would have accurate measurments for my brushes in the future. Then I added textures to the floor and walls. Simple drag and drop from the UDK content browser and then added a cool statue with a base. All from the Content Editor.
DISCLAMER
From now on assume that EVERYTHING (Unless otherwise stated) Is brought in from the UDK Content Editor. Just so I dont have to keep saying it.
I added light and tested out what I have so far. It looks nice and all but I intend on finishing today.
I will keep taking pictures and posting so stay tuned!
